Recycling - A Way of Slowing Down Climate Change

Manufacturing in industries using recovered materials(materials from used/old products) saves energy, helps to reduce solid waste and reduces the number of processes that lead to creating of finnished products. This reduces emissions which increases greenhouse gases that are produced within those processes caused by the extraction and processing of raw materials from their natural state. Recycling plays a positive role towards climate change, it reduces our carbon footprint.

There are a number of actions we can do to have a healthy planet, save energy at home, change your home's source of energy, reduce, reuse, repair and recycle.

What can we recycle?

Products that can be recycled are plastics, polythene, clothing, shoes, tires, boxes,metals e.t.c. in short recyclable products are only limited by our imagination.

There are many groups and individuals that have come up to recycle these products, this has incidentally reduced pollution in our environment.

What is recycling?

Recycling is; to put to new use(s) what has finished its original use or to prolong its original usefulness. To repurpose a product or part of a product to meet a new/another and/or the original need. For example creating shoes from old worn out tires or re-threading old tires.

What are the benefits of recycling?

Climate change is mainly caused by the high level of greenhouse gases emitted. One major benefit of recycling is to help in reducing greenhouse gases emitted hence sustain the environment for future generations.Other benefits of recycling are;

On we look at simple Do It Yourself(DIY) ways of recycling different products and parts of those products.
